Allentown After School  Program

Location:     Hill Top United Methodist Church

Hours of Operation: Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays, 2:45 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Dates of Operation: Tuesday, October 13th through May TBA.

Description:  In cooperation with Pittsburgh Grandview K-6 and the Wireless Neighborhoods Initiative, after school care, remediation, and educational enhancement activities are offered to children who attend Pittsburgh Grandview and who need academic assistance.  Partners include:  Duquesne University, Hill Top United Methodist Church, Pittsburgh Grandview, and Wireless Neighborhoods.

New Artists

Location:     Phillips Elementary School – Room 206
1901 Sarah Street – Pittsburgh, PA   15203

Hours of Operation: Mondays, 2:40 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Dates of Operation: Monday, October 12th through May TBA.

Description:   New Artists  serves fourth and fifth grade students at Phillips School.   Students examine several art forms throughout the school year.  Funding was obtained through the McKinney Foundation.  Up to thirty children can be served.

Philip Murray After School Program

Location:     Philip Murray ALA
800 Rectenwald Street – Pittsburgh, PA   15210

Hours of Operation: Mondays, 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Dates of Operation: Monday, October 12th through May TBA.

Description:   In partnership with Wireless Neighborhoods, this after school program serves students in grades Kindergarten through second grade extra curriculum instruction and homework help as well as enrichment and character building activities. Small group tutoring, a small student-to-teacher ratio, and the usage of learning games foster a safe and individualized learning space.

Strong Women/ Strong Girls

Location:     Hill Top United Methodist Church
631 Warrington Avenue – Pittsburgh, PA   15210

Programming Times: Wednesdays, 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Dates of Operation: Wednesday, October 14th through Wednesday, December 2nd.

Description:   Educational enrichment and mentoring are offered to girls in the third, fourth, and fifth grades who reside in the hilltop communities.  Partners include:  Duquesne University, Hill Top United Methodist Church, and Strong Women/Strong Girls.
