Kristi S. Rogers
Board President
Chair - Executive Committee
Kristi joined the Board of Directors in 2012. In the years since, her knowledge of and passion for Brashear's work has grown tremendously and she is very proud of her role as Board President beginning in December 2017, especially navigating the challenges of an Executive Director transition in the spring of 2019. Kristi's background includes architecture, yoga, and small business ownership. Whether it's in design, on a yoga mat, or volunteering in her community, she is inspired by creating opportunities for people to improve their lives through education, planning, and kindness.
Maureen A. Hogan

Chair - Governance Committee
Maureen has over 40 years of community development and urban planning experience in the private and public sector. Maureen's interest and involvement in Brashear date back to her days as the City of Pittsburgh South Side Community Planner in the 1980's and the planning/drafting of the first South Side Plan under the auspices of the South Side Planning Forum. In her subsequent jobs, she continued to identify the needs and promote the opportunities of the South Side and Hilltop neighborhoods. She currently serves on the inaugural board of the Hilltop Urban Farm.

Rick Hopkinson
Board Secretary
Rick is the Manager of Mt. Oliver Borough, as well as an active board member of both the Hilltop Economic Development Corporation (HEDC) and Economic Development South (EDS).
Rick joined the Brashear Board in 2016 to support the Hilltop Center Project and the organization’s expanded footprint in the Brownsville Road Business District. Rick earned his Master’s in Public Administration from Pitt’s Graduate School of Public and International Affairs (GSPIA) and is a Pittsburgh Business Times “30 Under 30” honoree.
Diane Dawson

Chair - Program & Facilities
As a child Diane was part of Brashear’s camp program. She had such a great experience with the camp that she made a promise to ‘give back’ to Brashear if she had the opportunity as an adult. Diane found this opportunity in 2018 and is thrilled with the leadership and potential growth for The Brashear Association. Her background is in healthcare and management for most of her professional career. She is passionate about her current work at Carnegie Mellon University as well as other Non-profit organizations that she loves being a part of.

Nicolas Jaramillo
Board Member
Through instinct, empathy, and original design Nic has more than a decade of experience in community development, systems and processes, and organizational management. He continues to create a career of working in the white space where innovative and sustainable partnerships can be fostered. Drawing upon the wisdom of others through a network of mentors and colleagues, Nic is a lifelong learner who is dedicated to positive community and social change. He is a systems thinker with a sharp passion for diversity, empowerment, and effective administrative methods.
Rachelle Ogun

As a Hilltop resident, Rachelle is excited about the potential of the South Pittsburgh neighborhoods and enjoys volunteering for an organization that is such an integral part of the community. The stories of the positive impacts Brashear makes on the lives of the individuals and families serves inspires her. She feels that with continued growth, Brashear will be able to expand into more program areas and have more positive success stories to share in the future! Rachelle enjoys playing tennis, swimming, listening to podcasts, following the Steelers, and keeping up with the latest political news.

Jennifer Styran
Board Member
Jennifer's relationship with Brashear began prior to joining the Board in 2016, when she served as Library Services Manager at the Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh-Knoxville location and provided job search and resume outreach to visitors at Brashear's Neighborhood Employment Center and supported youth literacy outreach to the ALEC center. She currently serves as the Library Services Administrator at CLP-Main. While that work has taken her outside of the Hilltop, she recognizes the critical services Brashear provides and continues to support the organizations enhanced services to the Hilltop neighborhoods.
Martin Uram
Board Member
Marty is back on the Brashear Board after serving as its President from 1983-89. Marty and his wife, Debbie, both grew up on the South Side and currently live in Baldwin Borough. Marty is a graduate of Carnegie-Mellon University with a BS/MS in Physics, and currently works as a Robotics Software Development Engineer at Smith-Nephew, Inc.
